A recA gene phylogenetic analysis confirms the close proximity of Frankia to Acidothermus.

چکیده
The closer proximity of Frankia and Acidothermus cellulolyticus relative to the morphologically close Geodermatophilus found previously was confirmed by resequencing the rrs gene of Acidothermus cellulolyticus and the housekeeping gene, recA. The diagnostic sugar 2-O-methyl-D-mannose was detected only in Frankia, while hopanoid lipids were present at high levels in both Acidothermus and Frankia.

Assessing the phylogeny of Frankia-actinorhizal plant nitrogen-fixing root nodule symbioses with Frankia 16S rRNA and glutamine synthetase gene sequences.
Actinomycetes from the genus Frankia induce nitrogen-fixing root nodules on actinorhizal plants in the "core rosid" clade of eudicots. Reported here are nine partial Frankia 16S rRNA gene sequences including the first from host plants of the rosaceous genera Cercocarpus and Chamaebatia, 24 partial glutamine synthetase (GSI; glnA) sequences from Frankia in nodules of 17 of the 23 actinorhizal ge...
متن کاملDetermining Difference in Evolutionary Variation of Bacterial RecA proteins vs 16SrRNA Genes by using 16s_Toxonomy Tree
Background and Aims: The rate of variation in various genes of a bacterial species is different during evolution. Therefore, in systematic bacterial studies many researchers compare the phylogenetic tree of a particular gene to the standard tree of an rRNA gene. Regarding the importance of 16SrRNA gene and the evolutional process of RecA protein family, we investigated the changes in the select...
متن کاملCultivating the uncultured: growing the recalcitrant cluster-2 Frankia strains
The repeated failures reported in cultivating some microbial lineages are a major challenge in microbial ecology and probably linked, in the case of Frankia microsymbionts to atypical patterns of auxotrophy. Comparative genomics of the so far uncultured cluster-2 Candidatus Frankia datiscae Dg1, with cultivated Frankiae has revealed genome reduction, but no obvious physiological impairments. A ...
متن کاملCharacterization and Phylogenetic Analysis of Magnaporthe spp. strains on Various Hosts in Iran
Background: Populations of Magnaporthe, the causal agent of rice blast disease, are pathotypically and genetically diverse and therefore their interaction with different rice cultivars and also antagonistic microorganisms are very complicated. Objectives: The objectives of the present study were to characterize phylogenetic relationships of 114 native Magnaporthe strains, isolated from rice a...
متن کاملAnalysis of Frankia evolutionary radiation using glnII sequences.
Using a glnII (encoding glutamine synthetase II) PCR selective screening, a Frankia ACN14a gene library clone was isolated. A derived glnII-hybridising 2.7-kb HindIII subclone was characterised. Identities of 95% and 93% were observed, respectively, with the corresponding Frankia CpI1 glnI and glnII regions. A variable segment of the glnII region was selected, PCR amplified from various Frankia...
